Zoom is a mobile and desktop app that combines video conferencing, online meetings, and mobile collaboration. It has universal access, which means people can join from all different devices such as, iPad, iPhone, other mobile devices, Windows, Mac, room systems, and telephones.
Zoom uses high definition video and you can also send group messages, images and audio files. You can co-annotate files when screen sharing on iPhone and iPad, so callers can share ideas and work on things together. Zoom also has an option to add/input closed captioning during a conference call. For more information on this, click here.
To host a call, users simply click “host a meeting” and can invite up to 50 people. People can join as interactive participants or “view-only” webinar attendees.
Zoom offers both free and paid options. The free, basic option lets you host up to 50 people. You can hold an unlimited number of one on one and group meetings on the basic plan. Group meetings cannot go for longer than 40 minutes or they will disconnect.
